Apple's iPad is winning both positive and negative reviews after its long-anticipated release on Wednesday.
The iPad, an oversized iPhone with a peculiar name that begs for high school humor, allows users to watch movies, play games and read books, similar to the Amazon Kindle.
USA Today called the device Apple's newest iStar.
The device retails between $499 and $699, depending on gigabyte size. The Kindle, which offers fewer features, retails for $269.
Like the iPhone, AT&T is the sole carrier provider, so if you have Verizon, tough luck, unless you want to break the contract.
As the iPad soars in popularity, a MadTV spoof from several years ago predicted a new women's product called the "iPad." Here's the viral video.
