Miguel Cabrera, slugger for the Detroit Tigers, said he is a new man after completing three months in an alcoholic treatment rehabilitation program during the off-season, according to media reports.
Cabrera was involved in a highly publicized alleged domestic violence incident during last year's American League Championship Series. Police had visited his home hours before a key game aginst the Chicago White Sox, a game that Tigers lost.
"My drinking was a problem, and I feel good without it. I feel like a new man," he told the Associated Press.
