Brock Lesnar, the UFC Heavyweight Champion, is back and sparking attention. Lesnar, known for his colorful language, on Thursday blasted Canadian health care coverage, saying it resembles a "Third World Country."
Lesnar, who makes his living fighting inside a caged Octagon, made the political comments during a conference call with Yahoo! Sports and ESPN radio.
Lesnar announced his comeback for a fight this summer after a battle with an intestinal disorder. In smashing Canada's health care coverage, he was not specific. He only said, "they couldn't do nothing for me. It was like I was in a Third World country."
He added:
"I love Canada, I own property in Canada, but if I had to choose between getting care in Canada or the United States, I definitely want to be in the United States."
He said his wife Rena Mero, formerly Sable in the WWE, saved his life because she drove him out of Canada and into North Dakota.
He used the interview to state that he is a conservative Republican and that President Obama should not reform health care. Health care only needs some "restructuring," Lesnar said.
