Graco Children's Products today announced a voluntary recall of 1.5 million strollers sold at major retailers, including Target and Wal-Mart.
The announcement, made in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, said that hinges on the strollers' canopies "pose a fingertip amputation and laceration hazard to the child when the consumer is opening or closing the canopy." To date, the agency has received seven reports of injuries associated with this issue, including five finger amputations and two lacerations.
The CPSC indicated that the recall applies to Graco Passage, Alano, and Spree Strollers and Travel Systems with specific model numbers and mechanisms. For a list of those, please reference this Web site.
