Country western star Charlie Daniels suffered a mild stroke while snowmobiling in Colorado, but he is recovering at his vacation home in the same state.
Daniels, best known for his 1979 hit "The Devil Went Down to Georgia," was released from a Denver area hospital on Jan. 17. The 73-year-old star will not miss any upcoming concert dates, according to CMT.
The "Devil" song is Daniels' best known hit, but it wasn't his first brush with success. In 1964, he co-wrote "It Hurts Me," which was later recorded by Elvis, and played as a session musician in several Bob Dylan albums.

amused by the description of his music. he was pretty big in the 70's when 'southern rock' was huge. I think my peers would agree his musical accomplishments were much bigger than just 2 songs. Funny to me. Hope he is OK. He is a straight talker, even if you disagree with him, he tells it like he sees it.
