New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez has only been in the National Football League for two weeks, but already he's the talk of the New York and the league.
The former USC star has led the Jets to an impressive 2-0 record to start the season. Not since the days of Joe Namath have Jets fans rallied behind such a young and rising star.
"I feel comfortable, more and more comfortable each week," Sanchez told the New York Times on Wednesday. "I'm on that steady climb."
In two games, Sanchez has thrown for 435 yards, two touchdowns and has a 91.3 quarterback rating. Sanchez last week led the Jets to a thrilling victory of rivals, the New England Patriots.
The 22-year-old in June five-year $50 million contract, with $28 million in guarantees, the largest contract in Jets history.
Sanchez, who has tendonitis in his right knee, and the Jets will take on the Tennessee Titans this Sunday.
