American Idol juggernaut Adam Lambert has partnered with DonorsChoose.org, an online charity where people can donate items, from pencils to violins, to public schools in need.

"They can buy headphones for music class, paint for art class or scripts for a drama program," Lambert says in a video posted on YouTube. "Quit spending money on me and let's give to the people who really need it and who are just starting out."

Lambert has been busy wowing national audiences while on tour with the remaining American Idol Top 10. Lambert is halfway through his first album, according to recent interview in People.

Lambert said his album will be "eclectic" and offer something for everyone.

The former theater actor placed second on the hit television show, but has surpassed winner Kris Allen, in popularity since the show ended in May.

He gets the loudest ovations at Idol concerts and critics refer to him as the show-stopper.

9 of us went to the Kansas City Idol Concert and we are all Adam fans...I will have to say that some of the other idols were a lot better than on the t.v. When it was time for Adam to come on everyone stood up and the yelling was great....as soon as Adam was through a lot left...I feel for Kris, but when we was in line at the meet and greet outside, he was right down snobby. I am interested in buying Adam's CD for sure....Almost like being back when Elvis was giving concerts....He was a love at his concerts till they boxed him in...(the fans) I play Adams songs most of the day when I am home....

Adam Lambert is amazing. ALl my friends both male and female love him. His voice, his performance style his gorgous looks all combine to make him such an exciting, electrifing performer. Adam appeal transends age barriers, color barriers, gender barriers, I believe he will be a superstar unlike American Idol has produced before him. The fact that he sells magazines like no other, his jewlery designs sell like crazy and he cares about muscians and creative children in need and does charity work make him all the more special.

i really enjoy Kris Allen's performances and singing. But, Adam Lambert is the best pop/rock singer right there with the late Freddie Mercury; and his mesmerizing staage charaisma is already becoming legendary I'll give kudos ot Matt Giraud and Allison Iraheta and Danny Gjokey too.But again, it's Adam Lambert who owns the stage, and is the only reason I toletated the drive, parking, crowd to attend the concert-one person and caused me to make a 5 hour round trip driving -Adam Lambert made it worth it.His singing is ourtstanding.

The blogger "Just Peachy" was absolutely right the same thing happened for Adam in Michigan in Auburn Hills at the Palace....I thought everybody gave a better performance than they did on the show but, Adam again stole the show....He got far more cheers than anyone. I thought Matt also gave a good performance. When Kris came on the show was over we didn't even wait to the finish. I saw Adam and I was satisfied.

The last part of this article is dead-on accurate. I went to the concert in Atlanta, sole purpose being to see Adam. I wasn't the only one. When Gokey was finished, the whole place exploded; not because Danny was so good (which he was) but because we knew Adam was next. It may as well have been the Adam Lambert concert and his 9 backup singers. No disrespect to them because they were all surprisingly better than they even were on the show. Standouts were Lil Rounds, Alison and Megan. They have all lost weight, but most notably Michael Sarver who is a handsome man. That being said, the night belonged to Adam and I would've hated to be Chris having to follow him. Very anti-climactic, because as far as 95% of the people there were concerned, when Adam walked off stage, the concert was over.
