If you are a Latino writer who secretly dreams of being the next Larry David, this is your shot.
The National Latino Media Council is accepting applications for a scriptwriting contest that will be read by network television executives. The winning scripts could ultimately end up as the basis for a show.
Writers selected based on their applications will spend Nov. 7 through Dec. 12 in Los Angeles, where they will be expected to complete at least one script.
Participants will earn $250 per week and travel, housing and meals will be provided.
Writers must fill out a program application and send in a biography, one writing sample in electronic and print versions, notarized release forms and one paragraph explaining you want to write for television. Scripts must be in English and writing teams are not allowed.
For more information, and to download an application, go to http://www.nhmc.org/documents/Writers_Program/WP09.pdf
Writing samples must be post marked by Aug. 28 and sent to: National Latino Media Council
55 S. Grand Ave., Pasadena, CA, 91105.
