Just days before Adam Lambert's Rolling Stone cover hits the street, new allegations are emerging that an msnbc.com story based on anonymous sources may have in fact been planted by American Idol loser Clay Aiken.
The MSNBC.com report suggests that Lambert is allegedly "rude to everyone--from fans right down to the lighting folks," according to a MSNBC.com source.
But Lambert's legion of fans is crying foul. They claim that Aiken's followers planted the erroneous tip to taint Lambert. Although Kris Allen won American Idol, Lambert's performances of "Mad World," and "Ring of Fire," earned him international acclaim.
For some reason, Aiken, also an American Idol runner-up, blasted Lambert after the results of the show were revealed. He said of Lambert's "Ring of Fire" performance, "I thought my ears would bleed. Contrived, awful and slightly frightening."
Lambert responded with this: "I'm glad he's getting headlines now because he wasn't before. If he wants to ride my coattails about it, good for him."
Despite the innuendo, Lambert's fans say he is sweet as a kitten. A fan who posted a comment to HispanicBusiness.com under the name "Adoring Adam," came to Lambert's defense.
"I have not believed a word from MSNBC for quite a while now. They have repeatedly proven that they write non-proven items, or just complete lies, just to get read. MSNBC has proven themselves to be totally unreliable . . . . Adam has shown himself to be gracious and a gentleman. Go Adam!!! You rock!!!"

Adoring Adam

There's no reason to believe that Clay fans had anything to do with it. I do not trust MSNBC in anything they say. I think they just want to try to start some kind of rivalry that will create something for them to talk about. I am not alone in saying that I adore Adam, AND I am totally crazy about Clay. I will always support both of them. I'll buy both of their albums, and I'll attend any and all of their tours, as many times as I can. A great voice is not to be denied, and both Clay and Adam are fantastic. Most Clay fans I know also love Adam.
Again, if you'r getting your facts from MSNBC, you'd better take it with a grain of salt. There's no low they won't stoop to, in order to make a story. What could be better than a rivalry? As for me, I ain't buying it.

I would hold the "story" writer responsible for her "work". I am a diehard Adam Lambert fan who didn't believe the story to begin with and voted my fool head off for him to win the show. I am also a Clay Aiken fan, David Cook fan, Jennifer Hudson fan, etc. I like and respect all the contestants who have competed on A.I. as it's probably not as easy as it appears on TV.
Adam is soooooo talented and such a great singer that he won't be hurt by this load of crap. I personally did not like what Clay blogged about Adam but chalked it up to professional jealousy and that Clay has done a lot to advocate for the special needs children and to educate the "regular" kids to not make fun of them and to accept them as human beings with feelings just like everyone else. I still support them all.

more lies. I am a Clay Fan...and an Adam fan....and a Danny fan... I know many Clay fans and the ones I know do not condone the supposed smearing etc. of Adam. Most are impressed with his talent and while perhaps Clay was a bit tactless in his critique of Adam's version of Ring of Fire (some liked it..some didn't...some were wonderin what it was etc...) ...that doesn't mean even HIS fans agree with him... People need to get off the turnip truck and realize that 99.9% of this crap is made up so people will buy magazines or watch certain shows. If there are Clay fans who are promoting this..they are the minority... and lead by misinformation. Adam has his own style...as does Clay..or Danny or Bo Bice or Carrie Underwood. Who really cares! Enjoy what you want to listen to!

Yes, the article originally (and irresponsibly) published by hack msnbc.com "reporter" Courtney Hazlett was a smear and false. Adam should sue her and I know many attorneys who would gladly assist him. MSNBC should fire her for not only her irresponsible journalism, but for tainting their own reputation as a reliable news outlet. What Courtney doesn't realize is that many "higher ups" in the industry are actually fans of Adam Lambert's and these kinds of things really piss them off, as it would any person. So Courtney, you seem to think it's wise to sell your soul to the devil do you? This smear campaign says A LOT about you, and shame on any other news outlet who repeats this false crap. Shame, shame, shame. I smell a lawsuit....

Something about Clay's fans planting the story doesn't pass the smell test. Now, if Clay is behind it - that comes closer to reason. Perhaps he was desperate to get Adam's attention in the first instance of "bleeding ears", and retaliated to Adam's brush-off with the diva story. Regardless, Adam needs to see just how deep MSNBC's deep pockets are, and he might want to check out Clay's worth as long he's on his way to the bank.

it really doesn't matter to me WHO smeared adam-----but, out of all the news and all the positive comments, i have to agree that it is a phony, concocted lie. i had never seen an idol contestant praise the musicians or give credit to those who helped him-----until adam. it seems clay aiken does NOT have a great relationship with the idol stage that got him recognized----so, i would tend to see him as the one with the issues. time will tell, but my money is on adam to be one of the biggest stars EVER. adam, you ROCK!!!!!!

I absolutely adore Adam Lambert and have spent HOURS watching interview after interview of him, and time after time after time, he has always been polite, sincere, honest, funny, and very thoughtful and intelligent with his responses. As posted recently on YouTube, when the paparazzi (who were disgusting and their actions disturbing) chased after Adam in a confined stairwell, Adam was still very kind and allowed them to take his picture. Adam is phenomenal artist, one of the nicest guys around, and I couldn't be happier for his success.

I blame that article on Courtney (liar) who is a SELF-PROCLAIMED MSNBC reporter. I hope that MSNBC doesn't hire her for any further news. If you review her work you will see how many times she has written lies about other stars. She should be made to apologize publically to Adam. He is a new up and coming artist and trying to put out his first record. Adam has all ready said he wants to colloborate with other artists. Who knows who has read her article (or the dozens of other copy cats who practically just cut and pasted another story out on internet without researching their work)? In fact if she or MSNBC can be sued I would recommend it. Because some star who doesn't know Adam yet or even a producer who was contemplating working with him may drop out or think twice.

I don't know who started this smear campaign against Adam...but one thing is obvious..it is untrue. Adam, by all accounts is one of the sweetest and most adorable people you would want to meet.. Everyone that meets him says that. Whoever is starting these rumors is very jealous or against Adam for numerous reasons. To say these unkind things about Adam is cruel and has to stop. You go Adam...we love you and can't wait to see you in concert and are going crazy waiting for your new album...
