Is American Idol Star Adam Lambert a Diva?

June 5, 2009

HispanicBusiness.com Staff

adam lambert, rude diva, american idol

The Internet is abuzz with Adam Lambert talk this week. The American Idol runner-up apparently is getting a bad reputation among Hollywood's elite, if you believe MSNBC.com.

Lambert is allegedly "rude to everyone--from fans right down to the lighting folks," according to an MSNBC.com source.

Even though Kris Allen won American Idol, Lambert has been the talk of the media and web for most of the season and since Allen was crowned two weeks ago. Lambert, whose performances of "Mad World," and "Ring of Fire," brought acclaim from many music and television critics, is set to grace the cover of Rolling Stone magazine later in the month.

Lambert and Allen have been on a publicity tour since the show ended and the two will perform as part of the Idol Top 10 tour later this summer. Both Lambert and Allen are set to release albums later this year.

As a journalist myself, I think it is important that the MSNBC editors knows the kind of crap their so-called reporter is spewing. Courtney Hazlett needs to be held accountable for falling for these "unnamed sources" who clearly are laughing hysterically at her gullibility. She is an embarrassment to journalism and her alma mater Columbia U. Write the editor at denisehazlick@msnbc.com.

Hazlett was asked to name her "sources", as they contradict anyone who has worked with Adam but still hasn’t. HAZLETT IS A LIABILITY AND SHOULD BE FIRED. I wish so-called journalists wouldn’t copy a hack who was merely annoyed because Adam was too busy for her. Do you think if Adam had been rude to fans, they wouldn’t have posted it on websites or put up photo or film evidence? I take it this is the same “diva” who was accosted by paparazzi on a visit to his doctor. I don't know about you but I don't visit my doctor when I’m feeling well so if ever Adam could have been less than cordial it was then but still he managed to be pleasant and let them take photos, still they wouldn’t let him get back to his car without chasing him up and down stairs. Diva? Rude? Give me strength!

Adam is no Diva. He is so adorable. Don't think any of the news is true. This brings to fold the problem online on what to believe and not. Problem is a lot of people don't know this. We should just educate them.

You do know that this is the same "reporter" who called Spike Lee "uppity", right? Who said that the issues that Owen Wilson was having a while ago were "rehearsals" for Heath Ledger's death. This person is vile. I wouldn't believe a word out of her.

What a load of crap. The problem with this is, alot of people believe everything they read. But, hey, he's still getting more press than Kris Allen. Keep Rockin' Adam!!

It is not so hard to understand Earthlings. Although I am having great difficulty understanding all of your pertubations around Adam Lambert's sexual proclivity. I do not know what that has to do with Singing! On my Home Planet, we are androgenous. When attracted to each other in that "special way", we stalk our prey and show lots of intimate interest in the Being. Carefully, piercing the personal shell, we create images, an RSS feed and let the photons and electrons do their work.. Procreation is stirring... electrifing! Yes, this is our way, invade personal space and set the charge that ignites the orgastic experience.. not so different from YOU, just more advanced...in that we admit that the chase is a libidinous drive. You must feel that way about Adam Lambert. Yes?

THE HUGE NO OF HIS FAN WHO VOTED TO HIM IS A GREAT EXAMPLE THAT THEY LOVE HIM AND RESPECT HIM PERSONALY AND FOR HIS BIG TALENT , AND THAT IS ENOUGH TO LET YOU SO NERVOUS OF JEALOUSY. RELAX AND ACCEPT IT , WE LOVE HIM SO MUCH.

I have not believed a word from MSNBC for quite a while now. They have repeatedly proven that they write non-proven items, or just complete lies, just to get read. Msnbc has proven themselves to be totally unreliable, if not out-and-out liars. Adam has shown himself to be gracious and a gentleman. Go Adam!!! You rock!!!

Pity the tabloid writer at msnbc didn't do some checking before trying to defame Adam Lambert. It turns out it was some catty Clay Aiken fans trying to slander Adam because he dared to answer back to Clay that he was just riding on his coattails. They totally made up this story about Adam and it's been found out now.

This is completely unsubstantiated by msnbc reporter Courtney Hazlett. She cites 2 unnamed sources - it is completely ridiculous. It is obvious that she is prejudiced against Adam for some "unnamed" reason and seeks to gain glory for herself merely by mentioning Adam's name. Please do no dishonor yourselves by doing the same. Credibility should be extremely important to a reputable news organization. It is good that you have cited MSNBC as being responsible for this initial report. It has been overwhelmingly rejected by the majority of their readers ... twice - and the author has tried to wipe clean her negative feedback by repositioning the article. Very unethical indeed!

I am so disappointed why people are picking up the story. How can Adam be a diva when he has been so nice in every interview and performance he did. Can't people see this? This is getting to be nuts! We really have to do something about that MSNBC journalist. She has no credibility whatsoever. Does MSNBC realized how much credibility they are losing every day?

Com' on. You all are better than this. Delete this story and cover the real one! MSNBC.com and Courtney Hazlett completely got it wrong--that's the REAL story!!! Five minutes of research by any CREDIBLE journalist would discover the antithesis of what Hazlett has "reported." Your fans adore you, Mr. Lambert!!! Michelle Collins from “Best Week Ever” also weighed in on it too (in a hilarious way!) http://www.bestweekever.tv/2009/06/05/does-this-look-like-the-face-of-a-diva/ So did Brian Mansfield of USA Today http://blogs.usatoday.com/idolchatter/2009/06/your-weekly-random-american-idol-memo.html Michael Slezak also tweeted http://twitter.com/EWMichaelSlezak # @ellmylife I can’t speak for other outlets, but Adam was absolutely delightful when he visited the Idolatry set. Heckuva nice guy!1:56 PM Jun 4th from web in reply to ellmylife Also Lindsay Parker from the LA Times Lindsey Parker from the LA Times tweets: “My observations of Lambert industry anecdotes make me believe the “diva” story is 100% false. Refuse to even blog about it. Not news.”

This is completely ridicoulous. The Media is pulling strings for anything related to Adam Lambert, it's completely stupid. Leave the man alone really. Every single interview or even when I seen clips of him while TMZ is stalking him he has been nothing but a gentleman and personable. This is getting so old, they need some new material really.

I'm SO disappointed that you guys picked up this "article." You guys have been so supportive of Adam all along, so you should know the reputation he has for being very professional with everyone with whom he has contact. His fellow contestants love him, the judges adore him, former employers from the Hollywood Clubs he played sing his praises, etc., etc. Heck, when a media hound followed he and his friend with a camera for about 5 minutes the other day, badgering him the whole time, Adam wound up the exchange by thanking the reporter. This article was generated with just one source, and that source was unnamed. Basically, the auther wanted to write about Adam, had nothing to say, so she made something up. I expected better from you guys!

The msnbc.com story is notoriously incorrect as citing unknown sources and is made up crap by a reporter who couldn't get an interview with Adam due to his hectic schedule in NY. She is a well-known idiot and it is incredibly surprising that other media outlets keep quoting her. All Adam Fans: protest this libelous attack on Adam's character by emailing the entertainment editor at msnbc.com Denise Hazlick who authorized this trash to be published. Her email is denisehazlick@msnbc.com. This kind of character assassination by the media has to stop.
