Alberto 'Father Oprah' Cutie's Controversy Inspires More Support Than Outrage

June 3, 2009

HispanicBusiness.com Staff

The rise, fall, and rise again, of Father Alberto Cutie is making international headlines -- even a month after the former tabloid magazine exposed Cutie's secret relationship with a girlfriend.

After a Spanish language magazine posted pictures of the Cuban-American priest, Cutie almost immediately defected from the Catholic Church to become an Episcopalian, which allows priests to marry.

The Associated Press is reporting that Cutie has become a Latin American sensation; rather than outrage, many parishioners are coming to his defense and calling for the Catholic Church to change its longstanding rules about marriage.

Cutie, known as "Father Oprah" in the United States built an international following from his church in Miami Beach.

que demonito de padre !! He lets his passion run wild and he has a sinful affair and now he wants it to be a virtue and he runs to the Espiscopal Church which was founded by the unholy one, Henry the Eight because of his " Sexual Urges". History then shows how his subsequent Wives fell out of favor and his sychophants promptly chopped their heads off so he could remarry validly under his Church rule by his Bishops. This man was caught doing fornication and people ran to his defense. The proper thing for him to have done would have been to renounce his priesthood and marry his co-sinner . That would have been the right thing to do There will be times when even priests and bishops will lead the flock astray. Let us be firm and virtous not immoral like this priest .

Where were all these good bishops who simply shipped abusing priests from parishes to parishes to keep the flock silent? It's a broken record. I don't get it, surely Jesus himself would not have put up with this. An older friend once said to me, "Mess around with wife, well that's one thing. Lay a finger one one of my two boys and I will kill you." My blood is boiling. I would dare say that Fr. Cutie is a good man. Our father in heaven will have the final say with us all.

The use of harsh language to condemn Fr. Cutie shows extreme ignorance of Catholic theology. May I quote from the Catholic Bible authorized by Pope Paul V1 in 1970. 1 Tim. 3: 1-7 "You can depend on this: whoever wants to be a bishop aspires to a noble task. 2* A bishop must be irreproachable, married only once, of even temper, self-controlled, modest, and hospitable. He should be a good teacher.3 He must not be addicted to drink. He ought not to be contentious but, rather, gentle, a man of peace. Nor can he be someone who loves money. 4 He must be a good manager of his own household, keeping his children under control without sacrificing his dignity; 5 for if a man does not know know how to manage his own house, how can he take care of the church of God. "May God Bless you lady". Fr+

For me he is a big embarassment to the Catholic Church. I wish he never been a part of our community. Yes, church is a forgiving church only for those who shows remorse. But Mr. Cuitie shows no remorse but pride, and boastfulness. He used the Catholic Chruch and abused the triust and confidence given to him by his Bishop. He was easily trapped by the devil disquise in that woman, and now he is totally controlled and owne by satan.
