The Olive Garden has found itself thrust in the middle of the flap over David Letterman's joke about Sarah Palin's daughter.
The company is disputing a Politico article that reported the company is pulling its ads as a result of the joke.
Last week, Letterman, in reference to how Palin and her daughter recently attended a New York Yankees game, cracked that her daughter was "knocked up by Alex Rodriguez."
Letterman apologized for the joke this week, calling it "beyond flawed."
Politico on Thursday had reported that the company had emailed Letterman critics a letter saying "there will be no more Olive Garden ads scheduled for 'The Late Show' with David Letterman in this year's broadcast schedule," citing the talk show host's "inappropriate comments."
The site then quoted an anonymous spokesman saying the company had canceled its remaining ads on the show. However, the company told the New York Times that the contract had simply expired.
