Roughly 1,800 small businesses were sold in California in April, making it the highest month so far in 2009 for small business sales transactions, according to BizBen, which follows small and medium business sales in the state. BizBen reported that the boost in purchases represents a positive change in the state's economy and that the increased availability of capital is reflective of the abating credit freeze. March had the second highest level of transactions for 2009 at just over 1,350.
