Since 1998 Ms. Sotomayor has been a judge for the Second Circuit. Previously, she was district court judge for the Southern District of New York. Her famous decisions include ending the Major League Baseball Players strike and an order allowing The Wall Street Journal to publish White House attorney Vince Foster's suicide note. She began her legal career in 1979 as an assistant district attorney.
