The family of three men who were murdered in June is suing the City of San Francisco for creating a sanctuary policy that prohibited local police from turning over illegal immigrants to federal authorities -- even when they have a criminal record.

On June 16, Anthony Bologna, 48, and his sons Michael, 20, and Matthew, 16, were gunned down while returning home from a picnic, according toKCBS.comin the Bay Area. The suspect in the case is 22-year-old Edwin Ramos, a Salvadorian national and suspected gang member who at age 17 was convicted of two gang-related felonies.

At the time, the city's law enforcement didn't turn his name over to the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency because of the policy, according to Fox News.

Sanctuary cities are illegal and should be sanctioned by the feds.

Instead of being seen as enlightened and cutting-edge, these 'sanctuary cities' are viewed as hypocritical and anarchical even by their own residents. Innocent deaths, such as the Bologna's, never should have occurred.

It was bound to happen. Sanctuary Cities" have been exposing themselves and their citizens pocketbooks by placing illegal aliens above the law. The fact is a few are attempting to circumvent our democratically passed laws by refusing to enforce them. Those in San Franciso who are involved in this policy should not only worry about their wallets, but also the fact that aiding and abeting illegal aliens is a federal criminal offense. There a good reasons for our immigration laws; to keep violent criminals out.
