The family of three men who were murdered in June is suing the City of San Francisco for creating a sanctuary policy that prohibited local police from turning over illegal immigrants to federal authorities -- even when they have a criminal record.
On June 16, Anthony Bologna, 48, and his sons Michael, 20, and Matthew, 16, were gunned down while returning home from a picnic, according toKCBS.comin the Bay Area. The suspect in the case is 22-year-old Edwin Ramos, a Salvadorian national and suspected gang member who at age 17 was convicted of two gang-related felonies.
At the time, the city's law enforcement didn't turn his name over to the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency because of the policy, according to Fox News.
