A day after infuriating star blogger and Miss USA judge Perez Hilton with her answer to his question on gay marriage, Miss California, Carrie Prejean -- who finished runner-up in the competition -- told a talk-radio show host that she has no regrets over saying she doesn't believe in gay marriage.

"It did cost me my crown," she said on the radio show of Billy Bush, the host of Miss USA and the first nephew of former President George H.W. Bush. "It is a very touchy subject and (Hilton) is a homosexual, and I see where he was coming from and I see the audience would've wanted me to be more politically correct. But I was raised in a way that you can never compromise your beliefs and your opinions for anything."

Meanwhile, Perez himself appeared on the Larry King Show Monday to explain his controversial reaction to her answer, in which he referred to Prejean as a "dumb b***h" (Click here to watch a snippet of the interview.)

Responding to Prejean's "politically correct" comment, Hilton said, "You want to know what? Yes I do expect Miss USA to be politically correct. Do we want a Miss USA that's politically insensitive? That's politically offensive? No."

Hilton reiterated his contention that her answer drew boos from the crowd, and even said that it seems as though the booing was edited out of the broadcast.

"Miss USA should be all-inclusive," Hilton said. "She should be my Miss USA. And when she answered the question in that way, it was instantly divisive and alienating to gays and lesbians and friends and supporters."

Prejean, a 21-year-old student at San Diego Christian College, went on to say that her sister, a supporter of gay marriage and a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force, was OK with her answer, Fox News reported.

"She said, 'Sis, I'm not offended by anything that you said. We have two different opinions and I love you because of it. I love you because you stood up for what was right."

So what if a crowd of people was booing and that it was edited out. Does that mean that you should only state opinions and beliefs that you think most people in the audience will agree with. This Hilton person needs to sit down and cool off because she was not disrespecting gay people. Maybe he should have a talk with Carrie Prejean's sister she sound like she might set him straight no pun intended!

Too true. In fact I thought she was quite politically correct. She did not denigrate gays, merely stated how she felt about marriage and that she thought it should be between male and female. She should be complimented for sticking to her beliefs, which she obviously knew would get a negative reaction, without criticizing the gay position on marriage. She didn't say gays are crazy for wanting marriage to be legal, she just disagrees. It may have cost her her crown, but not her dignity.

Gays and lesbians want everyone to be tolerant of their lifestyle but the minute someone respectfully disagrees with their opinion, they are the ones that become intolerant. Miss California was entitled to her opinion. Perez Hilton stated that he didn't want Miss California's Christian beliefs thrusted upon him, but yet he wants to force everyone to accept his gay lifestyle. Kind of hypocritical, don't you think? This is America and everyone is entitled to their opinion. It may have cost Miss California the crown, but in the end, I think she is a better role model to young woman by showing that you never compromise your beliefs, even if that belief may be unpopular in front of the crowd that you are speaking to.
