Tylenol Voluntarily Recalls Certain Lots of Arthritis Pain Caplets

McNeil Consumer Healthcare, a division of the company that produces Tylenol brand pain medication, has announced a voluntary recall of "a limited number of TYLENOL Arthritis Pain Caplet 100 count bottles."

The recall, issued in conjunction with the FDA, is targeting specific lots of the product that have been reported to contain an unusual taste and/or scent, which in some cases is leading to nausea. The product, which the company notes "can be identified by the distinctive red EZ-OPEN CAP," carries the UPC number "0045-0838-21" and code "8382100." Affected lots are 08BMC013, 08BMC020, 09BMC034, 09CMC036, and 09CMC040.

Another recall of a Tylenol product occurred in September, when the company announced that certain lots of Children's Tylenol could suffer from bacterial contamination.
