Since his daring performance at the 2009 American Music Awards, American Idol's Adam Lambert has been working hard to rebrand his image. In five television performances in the last month, Lambert has sang the melodic "Whataya Want From Me," instead of the rocking "For Your Entertainment."
Lambert returns to Fox tonight with another performance, likely "Whataya Want From Me," written by Pink.
While there's been a lot of media attention on his breakthrough American Music Awards performance, not many in the media are talking about his other live shows. Here are five links to his recent TV concerts.
Which Adam Lambert do you like the most? The hard rocker, or the sensitive crooner?

1) I like the look he took on for So You Think You Can Dance. It was a retro 50's look all glammed up. I liked the glitter tear on his face. So for the stage look So You Think you Can Dance is number one.
His vocals were haunting in Letterman but that was right after the AMA's. Loved how he changed it up on Conan.

Adam and his band were fantastic. Adam looked smokin hot. It looked like his glam rock eye symbology was Eye O Horus, but I'm not familiar with the shoulder symbol-to me it looked like ashes of snakes or something. He's the creative artist, I'll have to wait for him to tell us. Just great though, I really enjoyed his song. I hope he makes videos of Pick U Up, Soaked, Fever, We Are The Winners, Broken Open, Strut, -get the pic-someone rich give him the money so he can make the videos. His CD is diamond-lots of diversity, great tracks. And seeing him on SYTYCD was wonderful. We've been lucky this year being able to watch Adam on tv for free at the beginning of his career.Wonderful talented artist. Nice guy. Darn good-looking.

I like Adam Lambert singing anything. I can't say anycertain song he sings is my favorite. I just love to watch all of his performances live on TV and hear him sing anything. When he sings" What Do You Want From Me" I feel like it's a song from his heart and personal exsperiance and it makes me feel sad for him. I don't care that he's gay. I wish I was younger and could meet him and he wasn't gay but I can dream. I can look at and listen to his great voice.

P.P.S. Oops, got my dance shows mixed up. The two dancers who simulated oral were on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" rather.

(cont.) Performances which shun large groups of fans should be avoided, unless in a taylored and small venue. Taste and class is always appropriate - even to the most extreme and shocking performances (study Madonna.) Stars with potential and faithful fan-demand such as Adam Lambert, should never leave their fans disconnected, even for one performance. When is changing icing on a cake as important as having a really lusciously delicious cake to begin with?

(cont.) Should I be planning promotion for his new album, given all the recent turns of events, I would be strengthening Pink's song, as he did in tonights performance on "So You Think You Can Dance," perform "Fever" with lyric adjustment at onset to invite "all" to progress forward with Adam vs. some (entertainment is audience relationship based and should address ALL not some); and then increase in depth/magnetism with performances of "Broken Open," in the style of "Home." "Aftermath" could also be useful now as well, as addressing others vs. self. Platform should point to talent, talent, talent without forgetting that fan bases are really statistically maximized relationships - people live their performer preferences and have expectations as well as propduction companies.

Of your listed performances, I enjoyed the one on "Ellen" the most. Personally, I'd like to see Adam move away from lyrics which point to orientation, controversy, mistakes (or less than wins), vulnerability when under heavy criticism, weakness, etc. and deliver "strong" performances pointing foremost to his maximized vocal abilities, rhythmic dance persona, and photogenic gifts. In other words, lyrics should point to talent and not agenda and especially associations with perceived AMA shortcomings in performance and relationship expectations discarded. Adam's drummer has exciting camera moments as well.

P.S. I like Adam as both glam rocker *and* "sensitive crooner." I try not to put him in a box. He was outrageous before AI; I don't know why people are surprised now. He toned it down for AI.

Actually, I would have described "WWFM" as "rocking"--it's a rock song--and "FYE" as "melodic or danceable" because that one is a dance song.
Good article though.
SYTYCD producer Nigel Lythgoe says he passed the message to Adam's "camp" that they don't expect any surprises during the "family friendly" show. LOL The same show where in October, two dancers simulated oral sex--and they weren't blurred or banned from ABC. I guess when two straight people do it, that's considered "family friendly"--even though it doesn't produce kids.
I guess Lythgoe also never watched Adam's last five performances, both live and taped. They were pretty tame. Don't know what they're expecting Adam to do--rip off his clothes or something? Lithgoe is pretttty stupid, arrogant, and homophobic.
