New Mexico's Top 20 Hispanic-owned Companies

The Hispanic Business 500 has served as a barometer of the U.S. Hispanic economy for more than 25 years. We believe that applying our criteria on a statewide level can yield interesting results for our readers. Here, we take a closer look at the HB 500 companies in New Mexico.

The Top 20 New Mexico companies in the 2009 Hispanic Business 500 Ranking produced revenues of $584.72 million and employed 2,390 people in 2008. The revenue figure is up from the $523.84 million reported in 2007, but the employee figure is down from the 2,853 people two years ago.

Manuel Lujan Insurance once again heads the list, with 2008 revenues of $134.49 million. Eleven of the twenty companies saw an increase in revenues from 2007-2008, lead by A-Tech Corporation, which saw its revenues rise from $15.20 million in 2007 to $32.49 million in 2008, an increase of 113.82%.
