Boxing's pound-for-pound best Manny Pacquiao takes on welterweight champion Miguel Cotto Saturday in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Arena but a Pacquiao fight with Floyd "Money" Mayweather is the dream fight that boxing fans want.
"I don't think it's going to happen," Pacquiao told the Las Vegas Review-Journal "I'm sure (Mayweather)Idoesn't want to fight."
With the retirement of Oscar de la Hoya, Pacquiao and Mayweather are widely regarded as boxings best fighters. Pacquiao has looked unbeatable in recent fights, including a convincing victory over De la Hoya. Mayweather has never lost and would be interested in a Pacquiao fight, both for the money, and for the undisputed titled of boxing's best.
Pacquiao must first beat Cotto Saturday night.
The Puerto-Rican Cotto has a record of 34-1, with 27 knockouts. Like Pacquiao in the Philippines, Cotto is legendary in Puerto Rico.
