The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine actively recruits and strives to retain underrepresented minorities. The school also sponsors the Miami Comprehensive Model for Health Professions Education program, a motivational program which has helped prepare underrepresented students at both high school and college levels for studies in the health care field and especially for medical school. The success rate is high with more than 60 percent of students earning their M.D.'s and about 90 percent overall entering other health professions and biomedical sciences.
