DALLAS, May 27 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ -- Sports history in the making -- Hundreds of 10 - 12 year old youngsters converged Memorial Day weekend in Cerritos, California for the Dannon Invitational Cup at The Cerritos Memorial Challenge held May 24-26 for a shot to represent the U.S. in the most prestigious youth soccer competition in the world, the Danone Nations Cup.

From Pasadena, California, FC BARCELONA, scored the winning goal. Now, the boy's team will represent the U.S. at the Danone Nations Cup to be held September 4-7, 2008 in Paris, France.

Twenty teams played matches over three days at the Dannon Invitational Cup at the Cerritos Memorial Challenge to determine the winning team. Teams that vied for the top spot represented soccer clubs from throughout California and Nevada.

Sponsored by The Dannon Company, 14 players, one coach, and one assistant coach, from FC BARCELONA will now represent the United States at the Danone Nations Cup, making a historical play for the world title of best youth soccer team.

The Danone Nations Cup, is now in its eighth year and has become the world's biggest soccer tournament for boys aged 10-12, bringing together
2.5 million competitors from over 40 different countries.
