CSA Group, the nation's largest Hispanic-owned architectural/engineering/planning & environmental (A/E/P&E) services firm, acquired MDM Consulting Engineers, a mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering firm, the two companies announced today.
The purchase price for MDM, which is based in New York, was not disclosed. The firm's founder, Mariano Molina will continue to manage MDM operations and will now help lead all CSA Group efforts in the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut Tri-State area.
MDM has over 29 years experience providing professional engineering services to federal, state and local government agencies as well as media clients such as "The Tonight Show," CBS, and The Walt Disney Company.
"Through this acquisition, MDM's expertise will help expand and strengthen CSA's already existing capabilities within the northeastern region of the United States," said J.J. Suarez, CSA's president and chief executive officer.
The new partnership will allow MDM to continue on its path of growth and development but with the added bonus of having access to a larger group of planning professionals from engineering and design to construction services and commissioning.
"We're excited about the new resources and capabilities that we now possess," said Mr. Molina. "Allowing us to strengthen our commitment to our clients in always providing state-of-the-art technology and the personal attention that they've come to expect."
Founded in 1956 in Puerto Rico, CSA has offices in Chicago, Cincinnati, Miami, New York and Philadelphia as well as in Latin America and the Caribbean.
CSA ranks among the top 500 design firms by Engineering News Record and is financially backed by Hispania Capital Partners, a Chicago-based private equity firm focused on the U.S. Hispanic market.
This is the second major acquisition for CSA since Hispania took a minority interest. In November, the company picked up Brown + Brown Architects of Miami.
