Univisión Radio Names Jorge A. Plasencia Vice President/Operating Manager, AM Stations/Radiocadena Univisión

Miami, FL--(HISPANIC PR WIRE)--March 20, 2006--Univisión Communications Inc. (NYSE: UVN), the nation’s leading Spanish-language media company, today announced that Jorge A. Plasencia has been appointed to the newly created position of Vice President and Operating Manager, AM Stations/RadioCadena Univisión. He will be responsible for the operations - administration, programming and talent relations - of Univisión Radio’s AM properties and the RadioCadena Univisión Network. Plasencia will also maintain portions of his current responsibilities and assume the role of Vice President, Corporate Relations, Univisión Radio, overseeing strategic corporate initiatives and projects, as well as functioning as liaison with other Univisión divisions.

Before joining Univisión Radio’s predecessor (Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation) as Vice President, Marketing, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs in 2001, Plasencia spent five years as Vice President of Estefan Enterprises, Inc. Prior to that he was Director of Hispanic Marketing for the Florida Marlins Baseball Club. Plasencia also held various management positions within the Spanish-language radio industry in South Florida where he worked for WAQI (AM), WRTO (FM) and WQBA (AM/FM).

Plasencia graduated with honors from Barry University. In 1991, he co-founded Amigos For Kids, a non-profit organization that assists abused and underprivileged children in Miami. In 2004, Plasencia was appointed by President George W. Bush to serve as an advisory board member to the Broadcasting Board of Governors’ Office of Cuba Broadcasting. He also serves on the board of directors of the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute at Barry University and the Gloria Estefan Foundation.
