BREA, Calif., May 3 /PRNewswire/ -- How do you capture the attention of 100,000 people at a busy Hispanic festival in Los Angeles? Ventura Foods hopes the answer is flying a gigantic tub of Gold n Soft(R) margarine, the length of a city bus, overhead. That's just what the company intends to do this Sunday, May 8, in the sky over the Cinco de Mayo Festival at Whittier Narrows Park in El Monte.

With good-time music blaring and the aroma of Mexican food wafting over the crowd, the sky-high gargantuan margarine tub will add a unique dimension to the day's activities.
The airplane banner is the latest component of a multi-layered marketing campaign developed for the Gold n Soft(R) brand by its marketing firm, Tustin-based Vertical Marketing Network. "The goal of the promotion is to raise awareness of its no cholesterol Gold n Soft(R) margarine brand to more than 100,000 attendees at one of the largest holiday celebrations in the area," says Philip Saifer, Gold n Soft(R) spokesperson. The banner, measuring 35 feet high and 100 feet wide, communicates "Hasta La Vista Cholesterol!" to highlight the product's key health benefit.
Kitchens throughout Southern California rely on Gold n Soft(R) as a tasty, healthy product for spreading, cooking and baking. In fact, the folks at Gold n Soft(R) say, "Un poquito de carino para tu cocina!" (A little touch of love for your kitchen!)
The El Monte event was chosen for the fly-by as a complement to the company's three-year campaign to educate Los Angeles-area Hispanic consumers about the importance of incorporating no-cholesterol products into their diets, thus reducing the risk of common diseases including heart disease and diabetes.
In December 2004, the company launched new bilingual packaging for the product, which, along with the no-cholesterol awareness campaign, has resulted in doubling Gold n Soft(R) volume since 2002. Currently, Gold n Soft(R) margarine is the preferred margarine brand among Los Angeles Hispanics.
"We recognize that typically the best-tasting foods aren't necessarily those that are the best for your health, which leads to poor dietary choices, often high in cholesterol and other harmful compounds," adds Philip Saifer. "With Gold n Soft(R), taste and cooking performance come first. So our customers are getting the best of both worlds."
