“Todos A Leer” 2005 reminds us that it is never too early to enjoy reading, encouraging literacy in the students of Primary Academy for Success, whose student body consists of Preschoolers, Kindergarteners, and First graders. This interactive evening, presented by Univision 34 and Ford, is highlighted by the presentation of awards to the winners of this year’s “Todos A Leer” reading contest, in which the students compete to read as many books as possible during the week prior to the event. Gift certificates will be awarded to the first, second and third place contest winners. Additionally, the will receive a Dell computer valued at $500 and Scholastic Books, the global children's publishing and media company, will donate approximately 500 children’s books in both Spanish and English to the school’s classrooms and library.

Throughout the evening, parents will visit the various classrooms, each decorated to reflect a classic childhood storybook, bringing the magic of literature to life. Workshops will also be available to parents, providing reading tips for parents informing them on how to make reading an integral and enjoyable part of their children’s lives.

In March of 2003, Univision 34 created “Club de los Libritos” to address literacy among children in the Southern California area. Univision 34’s overall goal for this community service campaign is for parents and children alike to be exposed to the plethora of kids’ literature that is currently available in local libraries and stores while at the same time helping them cultivate one of the most essential skills in their lives - reading.
