Louise T Blouin Foundation Announces a $500,000 Commitment to Fund Cultural and Artistic Exchange Program With China

NEW YORK, Oct. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Louise T Blouin MacBain, founder of the Louise T Blouin Foundation, announced the creation of a $500,000 cultural and artistic exchange program in China at a dinner honouring Chinese Minister Sun Jiazheng held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Foundation, in partnership with Minister Sun and through the creation of this new program, will work to bring together the artists and organisations of China, the United States and the rest of the world.

"This new cultural and artistic exchange program will enable Chinese artists to experience and share in cultures throughout the world," said Ms. MacBain. "It is a wonderful example of how creativity, innovative thinking and partnership can bring people together for the betterment of humanity; encouraging greater understanding of values and helping to build stronger societies."

The cultural and artistic exchange program will work to support artists throughout China -- holding lectures, coordinating cultural events, and facilitating artist exchange programs between countries. The program is designed to bring together representatives of other countries and cultural traditions with those of China to encourage greater understanding of the values of each in building stronger societies. The most promising of Chinese artists involved will have the opportunity to take advantage of scholarships to major universities in the UK and US; Universities associated with the Louise T Blouin Foundation.
