ST. PAUL, Minn., April 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Northwest Airlines today announced that it has expanded Spanish language services available to its customers.
The airline has introduced additional Spanish language content at its http://www.nwa.com/ Web site and has significantly increased the number of Spanish-speaking reservations agents at its U.S. reservations centers.
"The expansion of the Spanish-speaking teams at our reservations centers will allow Northwest to better serve the growing number of consumers who wish to obtain services in Spanish," said Crystal Knotek, vice president - reservations sales and services. "The hard work and dedication of our team of professional reservations sales agents that have worked on this program will allow Northwest to compete more effectively for the business of Spanish-speaking travelers."
Northwest's Spanish-speaking reservations staff is available seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Central Time. Customers wishing to take advantage of this service may contact Northwest Airlines reservations toll-free at 1-800-345-7411.

Earlier this week, Northwest introduced the second phase of Spanish- language additions to its nwa.com Web site. Today, customers wishing to use the site's Spanish language functionality can check-in for their flight and print their boarding pass, obtain flight and gate status information, enroll in the WorldPerks frequent flyer program online, learn information about Northwest Airlines, its security and privacy policies and its Customers First policy. Other functionality will be added in the future.
"The new Spanish-language services at nwa.com are important first steps in Northwest's efforts to expand its many convenient Web-based services to the many consumers who prefer to use the Spanish language," said Al Lenza, vice president of distribution and e-commerce. Visitors to nwa.com can access the Spanish-language functions on nwa.com by clicking on the Version de Espanol at the bottom left corner of the home page of nwa.com .
