Los Angeles, CA--(HISPANIC PR WIRE – BUSINESS WIRE)--October 21, 2004--Univision Communications Inc. (NYSE: UVN) today announced the appointment of Noelia Rodriguez as Vice President of Corporate Communications, reporting to CEO A. Jerrold Perenchio. In this post, Rodriguez will be responsible for managing the company’s strategic communications needs and promoting Univision’s award-winning media services and operations.

Rodriguez joins Univision after ten years of public service experience. She was recruited by Laura Bush in January 2001 and served as the First Lady’s Director of Communications and Press Secretary for nearly three years. Her prior public service began in March of 1994 when she was named Press Secretary to Los Angeles Mayor Richard J. Riordan. In 1998 she was promoted to Deputy Mayor in charge of Communications and Scheduling. In 2000, Riordan appointed her President and CEO of L.A. Convention 2000, the host committee for the first Democratic Convention of the 21st century.

Rodriguez began her communications career at Southern California Edison, specializing in media relations and corporate advertising. Currently, she serves on the board of directors for L.A. Inc., Los Angeles’ convention and visitors bureau.
Rodriguez will assume her responsibilities in Los Angeles beginning November 1, 2004.
