The Small Business Administration (SBA) maintains a network of government procurement offices to increase the small-business share of federal contracting. Hispanic entrepreneurs should know that the SBA government procurement offices don’t handle the SBA’s 8(a) minority business development program. For information on the 8(a) program and 8(a) contracts, contact the office of small disadvantaged business utilization (see OSDBU directory) or visit the SBA at www.SBA.gov/8abd.

This SBA government procurement office directory names the main contact person at the SBA’s six area offices. However, the SBA has specialized officers who handle certain aspects of federal procurement, such as specific military bases or departments, in each area office. In addition, some SBA representatives work on increasing small-business access in the contracting process, while others help small companies market themselves to prime contractors.
