NEW YORK--(HISPANIC PR WIRE - BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 6, 2002--Atlantic Records has announced the release this week of "FROM THE INSIDE," the highly anticipated English-language debut from Italian-born sensation Laura Pausini.

The album, which also marks Pausini's Atlantic label premiere, is already generating the kind of praise that helped turn the chanteuse's previous Italian and Spanish-language recordings into international smash successes -- garnering worldwide sales of twenty million albums, 160 platinum discs, and legions of fans around the globe.

The November 9th issue of Billboard magazine acclaims "FROM THE INSIDE" as a "glittering" debut... "packed with melodious jewels, covering all tempos with maturity and ease." Reviewer Chuck Taylor goes on to rave: "Pausini is a singer with unusual depth and warmth, and a welcome presence in the in the U.S.'s pop-starved music landscape," concluding, "with From the Inside, a star is born."

Recorded primarily in Los Angeles, "FROM THE INSIDE" features Pausini's collaborations with a stellar lineup of today's hottest producers, including John Shanks (Michelle Branch, Melissa Etheridge, Joe Cocker), KC Porter (Carlos Santana, Ricky Martin), Guy Roche (Cher, Celine Dion), Evan Rogers and Carl Sturken (*NSYNC, Christina Aguilera), Patrick Leonard (Jewel, Madonna), and Jimmy Bralower (M2M, Cyndi Lauper).

The album features the Shanks-produced single, "Surrender," a track Billboard also lauded as "truly a cause for celebration" (September 21st issue). The companion video to "Surrender" was shot in Los Angeles, with veteran director Bille Woodruff (Celine Dion, Britney Spears, Nelly, Fat Joe) behind the camera.

This past Sunday, November 3rd, Pausini performed "Surrender" during the televised opening festivities of the annual New York City Marathon. On October 15th, she took part in the launch of AOL 8.0 with a special live performance at Avery Fisher Hall in New York's Lincoln Center. The gala event, which was hosted by Dana Carvey and also featured a performance by Alanis Morissette, was attended by a specially invited group of America Online users from across the country.

Laura Pausini's career was launched in 1993, when she won the prestigious Italian Song Festival in San Remo, Italy. Among her many accolades are such honors as the World Music Award for "Best-Selling Italian Artist," the Lo Nuestro Award for "Most Promising Latin Artist," and the I.F.P.I. Platinum Europe Award, as well as four 2001 Latin Grammy Awards nominations (including "Best Female Pop Vocal Album"). Pausini has performed at a variety of high-profile concerts, including Pope John Paul II's annual Christmas Concert, and, alongside fellow countryman Luciano Pavarotti, at the operatic legend's 1999 "Pavarotti and Friends" charity extravaganza.

Pausini made her first forays into the English-language arena with contributions to Atlantic's soundtrack albums for the films "Message In A Bottle" and "Pokemon 2000." She has also collaborated with some of contemporary music's most prominent artists, including Phil Collins, David Foster, Tim Rice, and Richard Marx.
