“The Simon School supports and participates in the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, which aids us in recruiting Hispanics to receive merit-based fellowships for our MBA programs,” a school official has stated. This program awards full-tuition scholarships. The William Simon School also works with the Minority Business Student Association (MBSA) to attract highly qualified Hispanic students. Once in the program, students have access to MBSA’s support services, providing leadership and professional expertise, and to the school’s Latin America Student Organization. The Simon School was one of the first top MBA schools to recruit in Latin America.

“Haas is one of the 12 member schools of the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, which has been our primary vehicle for recruiting Hispanic MBA students,” says David Downes, director of the Haas School of Business MBA program. “In addition, we are fortunate that California has a large Hispanic population and we have fairly easy access to a large pool. We work with our Hispanic alumni and current students to encourage applications to Haas and to recruit those whom we admit.”

The Texas MBA program at the McCombs School of Business provides Hispanic students with a variety of opportunities to pursue their personal and professional goals. Specific organizations of interest to Hispanic students are the Mexican Business Networking Association, the Brazilian Graduate Business Association, and the Hispanic Graduate Business Association. “Our Hispanic population (about 13 percent of our total class) includes both domestic students and international students from many Latin American countries,” explains Director Ellisa Ellis. “Our partnerships with other universities all over Latin America also help to fuel our diverse culture.”
