The International Center for Entrepreneurial Development (ICED) is the parent company of Kwik Kopy Corporation. We are a debt-free company with over one hundred and fifty employees on our 117-acre campus ready to help each of our owners in building their business.
Profile: Printing, digital imaging, high-speed digital B&W copying and color copying. Challenging, fun, fast-paced business. Open weekdays during business hours. The emphasis is on the owner to manage and market the business. Typical owner comes from mid to senior corporate background with management people skills and can-do attitude. Willing to get involved and be active in the outside selling process.
Location: A commercial ground floor location with back door for receiving and deliveries. We plan to locate in the center of the trading area, accessible to main east/west and north/south arteries. A walk-in "retail" location is not wanted or needed, since business is brought in by outside sales representative.
Investment: Suggested start-up cash required: $95,000. Total investment $305,410 - $390,110. Franchisor provides interest-free loan on $20,000 of the franchise fee, no amortization, repayment based on 1% of sales up to $25,000 a month and 2% of sales over $25,000 a month. Incentives offered to forgive portions of principal due.
Royalty: 4% to 8% with royalty cap, no advertising fees, incentives for payment on time which brings the high end royalty to about 7%
Training: 3-1/2 weeks of classroom training, eleven days (3 visits) at your center. Complete training provided for outside sale reps., lodging, continental breakfast and lunch provided weekdays, during initial training.
Special Franchisee Experience Requirements: Typically coming from mid to senior corporate management, people interaction skills, and easy to get along with personality. Willing to get involved and be active in the outside selling process.

Pre-Opening: Market analysis, assistance with site research (1 to 2 day visit to market to review with potential locations with owner included), review of business lease with recommendations made, space planning floor plan layout, assistance with securing financing using a loan packager and introduction to lenders that we have a relationship with, setting up the store, installation visit to get equipment and computers set up and working, assistance recruiting, qualifying, hiring an outside sales rep and other staff in the store. Training at our campus in Cypress for your outside sales rep at our next Direct Sales Training class (airfare and lodging included).
Opening: Teleappointment program to set appointments for outside sales rep, 7 mailings, and blitz of 500 businesses surrounding the store, training of staff regarding workflow, customer service and operational procedures, working out any challenges, 3 day visit to store to manage Sales Blitz, $155 a month reimbursement for a CPA to prepare financial statements for six months.
Ongoing: 3-day visit after being open 6 weeks and another 2 day visit after being open 4 months. First year subscription to creative artwork for marketing program. Workshops and seminars on our 117-acre campus going on monthly. Toll free support line, Intranet to connect to database of resources and vendors. Review and analysis of financial statements, batch purchasing, annual conference with trade show, owner focus groups, technical support, evaluation of new equipment, computer support, monthly Action Call from our support staff and much more. Turnkey direct mail and mailing list services provided for a fee after initial opening program has been completed.
